Haven't seen stuff like The Castle of Dr. Some of these are on GOG, such as the Neverwinter Nights games.
* a handful of famous older PC games aren't on Steam. If you wanna sort through these, you will basically need to ask around to find out what's good and suits your tastes. I pick these up occasionally (I just bought Immersive Paintings a couple weeks ago, and Space Child about a month or two ago). A lot of games of this sort that are recent, are on itch.io, and possibly waiting for a Steam release. But I'd strongly suggest playing it on the alt.org server because there's an existing playerbase/community there. There might be an implementation of Nethack on Steam, using one of the Vulture's packages for graphics. * the old classic roguelikes generally aren't on Steam.
